Stampendous Class

Last Tuesday I had a class at In2crafting using Stampendous stamps and Frantage embossing powders.

 

First card uses a spotlight technique of punching out { I used a 1" punch} elements of the image and popping them back on the card raised so the image matches up again. This is an old Stampendous Agapanthus stamp but its one of my all time fav's and they still make it, except now its in cling form. The inks used are Milled Lavendar and Dusty Concord. The larger Agapanthus head for the background is also a Stampendous stamp. After I had coloured I sprinkled Stampendous Frantage Aged White embossing powder in areas around the card and then heated from underneath.Very simply matted and layered in black and a Paula Pascal sentiment to finish.

 

 

Next one uses the Poinsettia background stamp, this was inked with Archival black ink on watercolour card, trimmed and distress inks Tea Dye and Brushed Corduroy blended around the edges. I did the same for the sentiment which is from a Lydsay Mason set of greetings. The larger Poinsettia flower was stamped and cut out again on watercolour card and coloured with Tim Holtz distress markers Fired Brick and Pelled Paint and a water brush. I sprinkled the embossing powder again randomly over the card and sprinkled Frantage gold glass glitter in as well, so that when the embossing powder melted it incased the glass glitter. Very pretty and unusual technique but makes for a fabulous effect. To edge the sentiment I edged the card with a Tombow glue stick and dabbed in the embossing folder. The Poinsettia flower centres has encrused middles of both embossing powder and glitter. Little bit of May Arts ribbon to finish off.

 

 

 

 

Lastly, an old technique but still a Christmas favourite to make a glittery scene on Christmas cards.

I used the lovely Snowy Postcard stamp, this was stamped onto white card first, then I stamped the oval area again and cut out. Image was coloured with Distress pens Rusty Hinge and Weathered Wood and I coloured some of the sky with Broken China. The whole thing was covered with a Versamark ink pad and sprinkled with stamp n bond powder and heated then translucent glitter sprinkled all over it.  The background was sponged with distress inks Rusty Hinge and Vintage photo and the Holly was coloured with the pens as the previous card. I cut around the hollys leaves so that the oval could slip back in after. Simply mounted onto card and a sentiment from Crafty Impressions to finish off.
