Happy 6th Birthday

Happy Sunday, today I have a card I made my grandaughter as she was 6 on thursday. Had to be cute of course, so this year I went with a little dog. The die is from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I added a link ink around the edges. The circle die is from MFT and I wanted a script type background but I didn't have a suitable stamp. Instead I dug out a stamp that had birthday wording in a single line and I staggered it in lines across a piece of pink card and then die cut the stitched circle out. I stamped it in a pink ink that was as close as I could get to the cardstock, alternatively you could use Versamark ink. The balloons are from Sue Wilson and I die cut her age to go on one of the balloons.I drew the highlight in with a pen and tied some bakers twine to each balloon and then secured behind the dogs paw. Finished off with a grandaughter stamp on a stitched rectangle die.

Spellbinders Glimer Plates

I spent an evening with my Spellbinders Glimmer machine recently. I tend to spend some time just foiling lots of different plates in various foils.  I die cut them out if they come with the additional dies and save them in a wallet to make into cards later. I also do some backgrounds and today's card uses a new plate called Geometric Florals. It comes with this geometric shape, some leaves and tiny flowers. For this card I just used the shape and some foiled elements I had already done weeks ago.

Tatty Daisy

Happy Saturday, it's a bit warmer and sunnier out there now than it was first thing. Hope the weather is good where you are and you are staying safe in these difficult times. My card today uses the newish John Lockwood die called Tatty Daisy. I have had it awhile but not used it yet, so after much reminding ( thanks Gill) I used it to make this card. Nearly all the John Next Door dies I used before belonged to the shop so I used a MFT leaf die instead. The centres are Flower Soft, which I saw someone selling on facebook, you could use PVA drops or pearls instead. I made a frame using some stitched rectangle dies and backed with some wood effect paper. Finished off with a sentiment strip that was embossed with white embossing powder. The card blank is made from black card and its a tent fold.

Belated Easter card

Today's post was supposed to go up on Sunday but I didn't hit the publish button after scheduling it so here it is today instead. This is the Easter card I made for the grandchildren. I used my peek a boo die again with these great little character stamps I picked up at show this year. Simply watercolored with Zig pens and then cut out to sit around the frame.

Wild Rose Anniversary card

Happy Friday, nearly the weekend and the weather's going to be fab. Today's card uses the Wild Rose stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh. I have used a background stamp, I have had for ages and not used...shock! It has been heat embossed with white embossing powder and then I have blended some ink over the top that coordinates with the alcohol pens I have used to colour the flowers.  Finished off with a sentiment stamp/die combo I found when I was doing out my craft cupboard last week that had fallen down the back of something. I has been stacked three times instead of using tiny foam pads and I used the Velvet ink from the red sunset collection to stamp the happy for a change from black.

Magical Dragon

Happy Saturday, today's card is a cutie one. It's the card I made for my grandson's birthday. I cut the number on my Cricut, several times to layer. The dragon has been coloured in with pencils. I used a cloud die for the background and used Distress ink blended along the die cut and around the edges. I used another cloud die for the little ones around him. I dont have the packaging anymore, but its a blue one so definitely one of the Dutch companies. The sentiment comes with the stamp set.

Embossing a stencil

I brought this stencil this year and I have used it several ways. In this card I run it through my machine using the foam mat underneath to get an embossed effect. I then dropped the stencil back on and sponged some ink onto the berries. The trees are stamped in the same ink, onto a stitched square panel. I then stamped the sentiment strip and matted onto some linen effect mirror card.

Today's card uses a lovely die set from MFT, I have used it before by cutting it out of white card and coloring it with inks. This time I cut it from some ombre papers from an old pad from Craftwork Cards. I did do some blending in the background and added a simple text.

You are Mermazing

Hi, seriously how can it be September already !! I hope its still lovely weather where you are and you can sit in the garden enjoy it while it lasts. Today I am showing you the card  I made for my granddaughter, she turned 5 last week. I had brought this stamp ages ago with her in mind and I dug out my Promarkers to colour her and her little friends in.  I picked up the stencil at a show months ago to use as the background and I used Distress Oxides through it.  She does have a glittery tail, but its not showing up very well in photo. The number 5 was cut from my Cricut Air machine on some old glitter card I had that matched. The tall seaweed die cut was from a Stampin Up set I borrowed and I coloured it with Distress Oxides.

My Favorite Things Stitched Blooms

I have a few birthdays coming up, so I have been playing with a die set I brought recently. I decide to cut all the elements in white card and then coloured them with Distress Inks. The background is a stencil and I inked again with Distress inks. The card base itself has been created using circle dies, top tip cut a slither off the back circle and it will stand up better.
