Key Rings

Today I am sharing some other little gifts I made for Christmas using the Cricut and some vinyl.  I brought the SVG file for the paint brush effect and also the display card. The key rings and tassels come from Amazon and they come in packs with various colours and either gold or silver. I added the name  in white vinyl on the front and a little heart or flower icon. I stamped a sentiment across the bottom of the display card and the wrapped in a cello bag and added a bow made from a die and cut in glitter card.

Christmas Shadow Boxes

I made these shadow boxes as gifts, again an idea I had seen on Pinterest. I brought the shadow boxes as a set from Amazon, they are different sizes 8x6 and 7x5. I left it too late to get the bigger deeper boxes which would have fitted a larger bauble. So I went with these and used the smaller 3cm baubles. The red, green and gold ones came from The Range. They were £3 for 42 baubles so not expensive. The blue, white and silver ones came from Morrisons and were reduced and I think it was around £2. I brought the SVG file and cut it in white Cricut vinyl. I backed the box with white glitter and gold glitter card. You could put lights in them as well. If you wanted to change the colour scheme the backs come off the frames so easily done.

Cricut decorated mugs

I saw ideas on Pinterest and Youtube to decorate mugs using the Cricut machine and I have wanted to get into using vinyl, so I made some up for presents. The glass mugs themselves a not that expensive and are easily ordered from Amazon. The title and initial ones were made for gifts for my grandson's teachers. Then I made some others up for my daughter and daughter in law and people who care for my mum. I used Rose Gold or Copper Cricut permanent vinyl for the largest letter and then White for name or title going across. Inside was a chocolate stirrer, some Galaxy or Cadburys hot chocolate and some Christmas Chocolate baubles or snowballs. I then found some yummy marshmallows to go with it in Aldi.

I have made a few other things using my Cricut and now everyone has them I can share, so will be back soon to show you those.

Triangular Double Pyramid box

Happy Christmas Eve, today I am sharing the little treat boxes I made. I followed a tutorial from Paper Pixie, I will link below. I used some old Stampin Up papers from last year. The snowflake die is from John Next Door. I had some little Lindt Mint snowballs to go in mine, so I popped them in a cello bag to stop them all falling out when the box is opened.

First Christmas

With two new grandchildren born this past few months, I had two cards semi completed, just needed to do the appropriate coloured scarves. As it turned out I needed two blue ones, which I cut in coloured glitter card. The baby Reindeer die is from Tonic and I used an old Crafters Companion embossing folder for the frame. I created some snow drifts with some torn paper and blue ink and added some die cut and embossed trees around him. I used Kraft card for his body and then added some brown and red card for the extra pieces. I edged the piece with some ink and the sentiment was done on the PC. I added some glitter on the trees and I found a tiny snowflake stamp to add on sentiment.

Advent Calendars

No cards today instead advent calendars. I made some new ones for the older grandchildren with bigger boxes. The red and green one I used red card for the boxes and the papers are from the Christmas Wishes paper pad I have been using this year. The boxes themselves are simple 2" x 2" boxes with a flap opening and I punched a small area with a circle punch to make it easier to open them. I had space to put Santa and his sleigh on the top. This was made from my much loved Elizabeth Crafts dies. I used some gold stickers I had for the number.

For the second one I went with blue boxes and the Stampin Up papers I have been using recently. I made a polar bear using the Elizabeth dies and added a hat with a new set she brought out this year. I also added some snowflakes to the sides of some of the boxes. The numbers for this one were cut from a Tonic die in mirror card.

Podium card

I loved this paper pack from Stampin Up and gutted it sold out before I could buy some more in the sale. I followed a tutorial from a SU demo to make the card base ( link below) and then I used the dies and stamps that coordinate with the papers to create the scene. I made two slightly different versions, they fold flat for posting.

This time I used the Tim's fireplace die and made a 3d scene with a tree I cut on my Cricut and I used the presents from the Santas Helper die set. I also grabbed in the Sizzix sale the Deck The Halls die for the bunting. Finished off the the Believe sentiment again from Creative Expressions.

Introducing Jolly St Nick

I used the Jolly St Nick die from Tim Holtz to make some more special cards this year. This card is for my grandaughter. It's a stepper card and I used the same dies as fridays card for the sky and snow background. The sentiment is from Creative Expressions and so are the trees. I used a Tim Holtz Elf die in a previous card and the presents came with the set of dies. Santa is another colourize die, he does have quite a few layers but once you have done one , the rest are easier and there is a youtube video to follow .

Introducing Theodore

I hope you are keeping well and all your Christmas preparations are done so you can relax now. I have been using some Tim Holtz dies for some special Christmas cards this year. Today say hello to Theodore, not your usual die for Christmas but its very adapt for my son. He is currently enjoying life in snowy Alberta Canada and often see bears when he is enjoying the countryside . Theo is one of the colourize range of dies from Tim Holtz , that means there is a selection of dies that make up each layer, each plate is labelled with the colour card you need to cut. Alternatively you can cut all in white and use distress inks to colour each piece. I used the Tim Holtz 8x8 pad of Kraft coloured card and sanded each piece and then inked around edges. I made a stand up box card, it folds flat for posting. In the Sizzix sale as well as getting Theo, I got the mountains ( trees are included)  for around £3.00 extra and these work really well in the background.  I used a cloud die to make a stencil to create the sky background and a die for the snow. There are a range of other animals and for this Christmas there is a Winter Wardrobe set of dies to co-ordinate with the animals to kit them out for the seasons festivities. The earphones were a must as my son is never without them. I am just praying after all this work he actually receives it, I did send it last month.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy

Another card today using just the papers and a die from the Stampin Up Trimming The Town papers. Very simple and also flat, so great for posting. I love the colour combo in these papers, finished off with some glitter. The die set does cut out the houses and the trees but they are simply enough if you dont have them.

Trimming the town

Today I have a quick and easy card using the Trimming The Town designer series papers from Stampin'Up. There is a coordinating die set that has the snow border dies in it and I used those with some of the houses, cut out from one of the papers. The sentiment also from one of the papers. I finished off with some glitter.

It's Snow Time

I have made another few cards using the Snow stamp and die set from Crafters Companion. This time I stamped the image with a Wow embossing ink pad and sprinkled it with one of my favourite Wow powders Platinum Sparkle.  After heating with a heat gun I die cut the word out with the matching die. I dug out some old glitter card and die cut my snowflakes using a John Next Door die and arranged them around where my Snow word was going to go. The snowflakes are flat and the word is on foam pads. I finished it off with some extra wording stamps that come in the set and added some gems to the snowflakes.

Sweet Poppy Bauble Stencil

I have a few more ideas using the Sweet Poppy Bauble stencil today. I have blended two shades of Altenew ink first through the stencil. Then I created some snow drifts using torn paper and some additional ink blending over the edges. I used a Cardio stamp set to create the scene and finished off with a sentiment across the bottom this time and of course some glitter.

I also mucked up one attempt so I die cut a circle out where the bauble is, inked blended another bauble part on a seperate piece of card and made it into a shaker card

One layer card no.6

I have wanted this bauble stencil from Sweet Poppy for ages and it finally came back into stock, so I spent a happy afternoon making cards with it in different colour ways. Todays is simply stenciled through on a card blank, it's one of my tent fold 7x5 cards. I used a stamp I had in my stash from Inkylicious for the inside image and added a sentiment. I added some glitter to the cabin and trees.Great one layer card and easy to mass produce in very little time.

One layer card no. 5

Today's card has one layer of cardstock that the die has been cut from. It's a new die this year from Hobbycraft called Winter Scene. I die cut the image first in some White card and that was going to be going on top. I used the negative piece it left as a mask by laying on the card blank in the middle and carefully blending some ink over the negative cut out. To do the snow drifts I tore some paper and put across the negative mask and blended more ink , moving the paper to create the effect of drifts. I was careful not to bring the Blue ink down to where the Stag is as I wanted this part White. I used a fine tipped glue to add the die cut to the inked background. I then filled in some glue around the Stag area and sprinkled with glitter. I finished off with a sentiment. I think the scene in the background would look good with a few trees stamped in Black but I couldn't find anything something small enough.

One layer card no.4

A cutie today, using the Crafters Companion Snowman stamp. I started off die cutting a circle in a large post it note or you can you thin card or copier paper. I placed that in the middle of the card blank, its a smaller 5" square. I started by stamping the Snowman inside the circle, I then stamped him again on a post it note and cut him out to use as a mask. I placed that over the already stamped image then stamped the Christmas tree to the right of him, overlapping the post it note and the edge of the circle. Next I tore some paper to make the snow drifts. I gently blended ink in different places and blended heavier in some places. I then blended some more of the ink up and around the circle mask. After I removed all the post it notes I coloured the snowman with pencils for a change and added the sentiment that comes with him. I finished off with a White gel pen to create some snow and some glitter around the ground. This card is all on the card blank so completely flat.

One layer card no. 3

A while ago I used a Crafters Companion Snow stamp and die set with a cute snowman stamp. Today's card uses another of their word sets "Merry". You get the stamp, the die to cut the word out and some coordinating little stamps. I have done two versions of this card, this first is all stamped on the card blank and the second is the same design but done on a white stitched rectangle mat on a coloured card base.

I used some very old bauble stamps from Papertrey Ink. I wanted a stamp with a more solid image and I used two shades of turquoise ink from a Altenew set. Using the top printed sheet you get in alot of stamp sets, I planned where I wanted the baubles to be. Once stamped I drew a line with a Silver gel pen. I then positioned the "Merry" in my stamp positioner and stamped the word and the "little Christmas" stamp. I added some glitter Nuvo drops on the baubles. It would be a great card from mass producing.

The second card I did in one shade of ink that matched the cardstock base and I used another little stamp in the set. I added some gems this time and both are top folding cards.

One layer card no. 2

Back again today with another one layer card. I did some cards recently using the Two Jays Penguin stamps and I wanted to use one of them again in a single layer card.

I first die cut a circle, mines around 4 1/4" in size, out of post it note or copier paper. You can do the stamping on the card blank, which I will be honest I did do and then right at the end I got some ink from my finger on it so I cut it down and used it as mat on my card blank.  If you are using copier paper stick it down with some tape so its doesnt move. I then stamped my penguin where I wanted him and then stamped him again on a post it note and cut out. Tip is to cut right on the ink line that way you won't get a halo effect around him. Cover the stamped image with the post it note one and then same as I did yesterday tear some more post it note to make the snow border. Leave the post it note on the penguin and line up where you want the snow to lay and blend either side of him. I then did a few more layers going down the circle. I also blended some ink around the inside top of the circle for the sky. Pop the post it note back over penguin matching up where you blended and ink up your trees and stamp. You are going over the post it note on the penguins and the snow border, it does look weird but trust me when you remove all of it the trees will be in the background of the penguin and he is sitting on the snow. I then coloured the penguin with alcohol pens, stamped a sentiment across the bottom and found a little snowflake stamp to create the snow falling. It look really dimensional but its all one layer. Of course I added some glitter to finish and a few little lines with a white gel pen.
