Mays Christmas Card....

....just !!. So all my crafting as has gone to pot abit this month as I am concentrating on wedding makes. I hadn't completely forgotten about my monthly Christmas card but just didn't have time before 25th, so last day of the month and here it is.

I used a Spellbinders Die set and used the inner and outer bell dies. I cut them in some patterned paper from an old pad I had and cut the whole bell to go behind. The little bow is part of the set and I used a Clearly Besotted pine stamp to create the background. Sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Hopefully Junes will be more organised. I have loads of cards to post about so hopefully I will be back soon with some of those.

Woodware Cosmos Flower part 2

Back again with my second card using the Cosmos stamp from Woodware. This time I used my WRMK Stamping tool to stamp the whole image with a Green pigment ink pad. I then cleaned the ink off and re stamped with Versamark just over the flower parts. This technique is so easy using the stamping tool and they are lots of different ones on the market now. Don't worry if you get some on the green ink , as long as you use an anti static pad you can brush off any embossing powder that is in the wrong place with a fine brush.  I poured Wow embossing powder called Hot Gossip over the area I used Versamark ink. Its a lovely bright pink but has Copper running through it. I then used my stamping tool again with Black ink to stamp the sentiment. The flower centres are made using Copper Micro Beads from Creative Expressions. I filled the centre of the stamped image with some Creative Expressions Cosmic Shimmer glue and then poured the Micro Beads over the top and made sure it stayed circular by just tapping around the edge with my pokey tool. Be warned best to decant them into something as they are very small and go everywhere whilst trying to get them back into the pot.....ask me how I know !!! The whole piece when dry was matted onto some Black and Green cardstock and mounted onto a 7" x 5" card base.

Hope you all have a great weekend and manage to fit in a little or a lot of crafting .

Woodware Cosmos Flowers

I recently made two cards using the Woodware Cosmos flower stamp. I will post the other card next time but todays one uses an old technique I haven't don't for a while so thought it was time I did it again. Its a twist on the spotlight technique, I stamped the whole image with Black Archival ink directly onto my card base. I then stamped it again on some spare cardstock. I used some circle punches but you could use circle dies and punched out 3 circles containing different parts of the stamp. I used some Tim Holtz Distress inks to blend different colours over each of the circles. I used Picked Raspberry, Cracked Pistachio and Spiced Marmalade. I then covered each one with Versamark ink and sprinkled with Creative Expressions Sticky embossing powder. Different company's call it different names basically its a clear embossing powder which stays sticky once heated. I then covered it with Glamour Dust glitter, any clear transparent glitter would do....the finer the better. I like to give it another quick blast with the heat gun to make sure the glitter has adhered to the embossing powder. Its not showing up so good it photo but it is really twinkly. I then added some foam pads behind each circle and matched it up perfectly with the main image on my bard base. I finished off with the sentiment from the set just stamped and matted onto some Black cardstock.

Back soon with my second card using this stamp set.

Pixie Powders

Here is my third card using Pixie Powders. I used one of the large ferns from the  Dutch Doobadoo Paper Art Fern sheets in the shop. I carefully cut it away from the sheet in comes in ( different sizes on each sheet)  I coloured it by tapping a small amount of  some Bronze Blush powder onto a plate or mat and then spritzed with water. I then dabbed it repeatedly in the wet powder, dried and then added some more to build up the colour. The background is just some white cardstock, sprinkled and spritzed with some Pale Olive powder and dried.

I then stamped the script stamp from the Wow Wall Art stamp set with Brilliance Copper ink randomly over the cardstock. I also added a little powder to the small piece of card the fern is on. I edged both pieces with the Copper ink.

Cone Flowers and Pixie Powders

This card uses the Woodware Cone flowers and it has been stamped onto watercolour card with a black pigment ink and then heat embossed with Wow clear embossing powder. This technique is great to use when you are going to colour with watercolour type mediums as it keeps the colour within the lines of your image. To colour I sprinkled a little Pixie Powder onto a palette and mixed in a few drops of water using a water brush. You can use an ordinary brush and a cup of water if you prefer. I used a fine tipped brush, its easier to get in the really small areas.

The mica in the Pixie Powders really comes through when its dried. I coloured a scrap of watercolour card with some of the purple powder and then stamped my sentiment from a Sweet Dixie set on the top. Finished off with a very simple mat of black card. The colour Pixie Powders I used were Purple Violet, Golden Mint, Mango Blaze, Sun Yellow, Bronze Blush.

Brushed Blooms

I made this card quite a while ago with the stamps and dies from the Stampin Up Brushed Blooms set, that appears in the Jan/June 2021 mini b...
