Art Deco lady

Todays card is one I made for my daughters birthday. Do crafts did a art deco ladies range in there last promo and this card used one of the die cut sheet packs. The card is a tri-fold stepper style and its one of a pack I brought from a show on one of those 99p stalls. There was some peel off alphabets in the range, which makes a change for me as I never use them anymore but the text style was so suitable for the card and there was some packs of feathers in the range as well, just to add a little something.

Keep warm, be back soon

Happy New Year and a Steampunk card

I hope you all had a lovely New Year celebrations! Ours was vey quite as usual, just a night in front of the tv. I have been taking down decorations today and having a majot tidy up and came across my hubbys birthday card that I never posted on here.

Apologies for the poor photo but you get the idea. The stamp is from Hero Arts and I cant remember whose sentiment that is as its old. The charm I picked up in Hobbyarts and the papers are from an A4 pad from Kanban's Steampunk range .

Tomorrow I will post the card I made for my daughters birthday using the Art Deco papers and die cuts from Do Crafts.

Enjoy whats left of the bank holiday

Snowy postcard

I had this image already coloured and glittered from a class a while back { see post 2nd Dec}and decided to make it up into a card for my mum and dad.  The poinsettia's are from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from Personal Impressions. The flowers are diecut and embossed in some velvet paper I have had for years, it embossed really well. The papers are Graphic 45 from a year or so ago, the leaves are in felt from Kars and the gold fern is a Martha Stewart punch. Finished with some Stampin'Up ribbon in Early Espresso

I hope you all have a very happy Christmas, thank you for visiting my blog this year.

Signature Christmas

I have always loved Stephanies cards and now she has brought out her own range of stamps called Clearly Besotted. This card uses the Signature Christmas set and I used Lucky Limeade and Cherry Cobbler Stampin'Up ink with Lucky Limeade cardstock. Completely flat is ideal for posting and I love the little bow stamp that pops on the top of the wreath. I just drew a line to hang the wreath with a fine liner pen. I added some glitter gel on the circles on the wreath but the photo's not showing that, it does make a difference.

Signature Christmas

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well, mine aren't but it will all come together in the end.

I have just finished my card for my mum and dad, will try and photograph tomorrow.

Stampendous Class

Last Tuesday I had a class at In2crafting using Stampendous stamps and Frantage embossing powders.

First card uses a spotlight technique of punching out { I used a 1" punch} elements of the image and popping them back on the card raised so the image matches up again. This is an old Stampendous Agapanthus stamp but its one of my all time fav's and they still make it, except now its in cling form. The inks used are Milled Lavendar and Dusty Concord. The larger Agapanthus head for the background is also a Stampendous stamp. After I had coloured I sprinkled Stampendous Frantage Aged White embossing powder in areas around the card and then heated from underneath.Very simply matted and layered in black and a Paula Pascal sentiment to finish.

Next one uses the Poinsettia background stamp, this was inked with Archival black ink on watercolour card, trimmed and distress inks Tea Dye and Brushed Corduroy blended around the edges. I did the same for the sentiment which is from a Lydsay Mason set of greetings. The larger Poinsettia flower was stamped and cut out again on watercolour card and coloured with Tim Holtz distress markers Fired Brick and Pelled Paint and a water brush. I sprinkled the embossing powder again randomly over the card and sprinkled Frantage gold glass glitter in as well, so that when the embossing powder melted it incased the glass glitter. Very pretty and unusual technique but makes for a fabulous effect. To edge the sentiment I edged the card with a Tombow glue stick and dabbed in the embossing folder. The Poinsettia flower centres has encrused middles of both embossing powder and glitter. Little bit of May Arts ribbon to finish off.

Lastly, an old technique but still a Christmas favourite to make a glittery scene on Christmas cards.
I used the lovely Snowy Postcard stamp, this was stamped onto white card first, then I stamped the oval area again and cut out. Image was coloured with Distress pens Rusty Hinge and Weathered Wood and I coloured some of the sky with Broken China. The whole thing was covered with a Versamark ink pad and sprinkled with stamp n bond powder and heated then translucent glitter sprinkled all over it.  The background was sponged with distress inks Rusty Hinge and Vintage photo and the Holly was coloured with the pens as the previous card. I cut around the hollys leaves so that the oval could slip back in after. Simply mounted onto card and a sentiment from Crafty Impressions to finish off.

Back soon with my last class for this year Indigo Blu

Clean and Simple class

Last week I had a clean and simple style class at In2crafting, these cards are great for mass production...ideal for this time of year!!

First one uses the new Tim Holtz Snowflake die, Mini Snowflake Rosette, if you have seen his concertina flower die its the same sort of thing but with a snowflake style. The background is just a simple snowflake background from Paula Pascual, stamped in silver ink. The sentiment is from the Woodware Hearfelt Christmas Wishes set. I used silver elastic to hang the snowflakes.

The next card uses the Tree and sentiment stamp from the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage stamp set and the cardstock is from the same collection. I used a glitter glue to just go along the top lines of each row...amazing what a difference that makes...its better in real life than in the photo. Ribbon is from May Arts.

Then lastly, an easy snowflake card using the Paula Pascal Christmas Frame set and this time I used a different colour combo. Adirondak Pebble and Slate, together with some Silver Pigment ink for some of the small snowflakes. The card base was on Kraft cardstock. I added some Distress Stickles in Antique Linen to the centres.

Back soon with my next class using Stampendous stamps.

I am dreaming of a white christmas

I am so behind with blogging, but I am now on top of classes etc so have no excuse's to not get back upto date over the next few days!! Today's post is from a class I did the other week at In2crafting making white on white cards.

First one uses the beautiful snowflake on the edge die from Tim Holtz. I love this Kirsty Wiseman tree stamp and the sentiment comes with it. For a subtle look I stamped the sentiment on vellum and wrapped it around the image. Its layered onto some glitter card and the on the edge die has been cut with double sided adheshive sheet and then coated with the new Tim Holtz glitter. I am loving the look of this glitter....stunning no colours just as pure snow !

The next one uses a Memory Box Frostyville border die and the stamps are from the Crafty Impressions Bauble sentiments stamp...very simply the baubles are stamped and hung with silver elastic. The sentiments on this set are great, they include relation names that can be incorporated in different holiday greetings.

Finally, a Marianne Poinsettia die and Memory Box Catalina Wreath, simply cut out in white and some yellow pearls. I used a circle Nestabilitie for the centre and the sentiment stamp is from a beautiful set from Woodware called Heartfelt Christmas Wish set.

Spellbinding Christmas

Last saturday I had a class making Christmas cards with Spellbinders dies. As usual a fast paced class but most of the girls got nearly all their cards done, just a few finishing touches to do at home.

First up was the Layered Poinsttia card

This card used the Layered Poinsettia set, labels 25 and Floral Doily accent border die. I love the technique of embossing the cardstock after cutting and then whilst still in the die taking a white ink on a piece of sponge or dauber and rub the ink over the holes in the die to create the veins. Just always remember to wipe the dies clean with a baby wipe before you die cut something else. Best to do all your cutting and embossing first and then to the inking.

Next up my favourite new technique with Creative Exprssions micro beads, I am going to do a tutorial on this sometime this week. What I wanted to achieve with this card is the look of lots of layers but its actually flat.  I did add pearl dots around the edge but you could use a ruler to prick holes around the outisde edge to create faux stitching and then add a white gel pen for the thread. I did dashes inbetween the pearl dots. The little Poinsettia is from the same set as the above card and a bow of string from the Docrafts promo.

Lastly, a newish die called Card Creator { thanks mag for the lend!!} Love this die set, it cuts the ribbon slots at the bottom. I cut a circle out of the side and embossed another circle with a snowflake stamp. All the stamping on this card was done with Versamark ink and white embossing powder. I sanded the cardstock after I had embossed. The ribbon is cream seam binding.

All the cardstock used in this class was from the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage range and the coordinating stamps. All available from the shop.
