Fun Folds: Card no.6

Today's card is very tall and thin, it fits a DL envelope. It's similar to yesterdays card , but this time the stopper is at the top and for a change I used a bow. I had a piece of card that I had foiled and I used that for the middle topper.

I used some Altenew stamps for the embellishments. The sentiment has also been foiled. My card blank measures 16 1/2" x 3 3/4" and is scored at 8 1/4" and 4 1/8" . If you dont have the Limetree adaptables you can use either some A3 card or you could do it in two pieces and add a tab to attach at bottom of the back. My middle piece is 5 7/8" x 2 3/8" you could make it slightly wider if you wanted. Mine just happens to be the size of my foil stamp. Again I just added a small foam pad under the bow to make the stopper.

Peony Bouquet

Today's card uses the Altenew Peony Bouquet stamp set together with a new Spellbinders Glimmer plate. I added some leaves from the Leaf Canopy stamps from Altenew and this time I stamped the solid and the outline in greens for a more subtle look. The smaller leaves come with the Peony set. Finished off with a sentiment and few Nuvo drops.

Noel

Hi, I hope you are all well and enjoying the run up to the festivities. Most of my cards have been given out now so I can start posting again. I brought an Crafters Companion Foilpress a few months ago and several of my cards this year use foil in them. This card uses a Bright Rosa background die and foiled the "Noel" with some silver foil. The Mistletoe has been die cut from the same foil which has been stuck to some double sided adhesive. Finished off with a little bow from an old die set I had in my stash.

Gemini Foilpress

I treated myself to the new Gemini Foilpress recently, this frame and the sentiment plate came in the bundle. I created the background using a embossing folder from Creative Expressions. The flowers are an layered with Grey and Silver card. I added some foliage that was die cut from glitter card. Finished off with some Nuvo drops. I do like the Grey/Silver combo, will definitely be doing more of these this year.

Happy Mothers Day

Todays card is for my mum and I also made another one with slightly less on it for a friends birthday which was last month. Foiling is huge at the moment and I am loving it. I am still working out which techniques and types of foils work best for me and there are ways you can craft with it without having to use anything more than a heat gun or glue. From beginning of April I will be showing lots more samples and techniques as we are having a featured product of the month promotion with foils in the shop, so keep an eye out for those.

I used a die set I borrowed for a friend (thanks Mag) its from Crea-Lies and is called Modern Patchwork No.3. I die cut it all the layers in white cardstock. The flowers are foiled using some Tonertex foil, I have had this years and I mean years but I think company is still going. Its a mix of muted colours and was ideal to go with the Shaded Nasturtium stamp I wanted to use from Creative Expression. I have foiled onto vellum, its quite thick and I used Wow Bonding powder and Versamark ink and then run it through a laminator. The foliage is also dies from Creative Expressions and are called Delicate Fronds and Faux Quilled leaves and those were die cut on Toner cardstock. I will do more detailed techniques during April.

Closer look at foiling, unfortunately its not the easiest to photograph. I used Copper and Gold foil for the leaves and they were a mix of foils from Wow and Deco foil. The sentiment stamp is from Clearly Besotted. Finished off with some Gold Mark Richard pearls in the centres.

Here's the birthday versions I did for my friend. The butterfly was a die from Clearly besotted as was this sentiment.

Wishing all mums in the UK a wonderful day and hope you get the chance to relax and maybe fit a bit of crafting in.

Foiling

Good morning, todays post is about foiling. I have been playing about with different foiling techniques for a little while now and love the effect it gives on a card. This card was made for a friends birthday a little while ago. The flowers are called Blushing Rose and from Sue Wilson. You can either die cut your shape onto some double sided sticky paper and thin card and then apply the foil or die cut from sheets that have been printed from a laser printer. I don't have one of those, so I popped to a local printers and they printed me a sheet of solid black toner onto some of my white card. I die cut my flowers and leaves from this, cut out my foil and colour side up laid over the die cuts, black side up and run it through a laminator. The pink foil is from Heidi Swapp Minc collection and the green foil for the leaves is from Wow.

Unfortunately it not the easiest thing for me to photograph especially in bad light, but hopefully you can see  how gorgeous the foiling is. I used one of the mini stencils from Creative Expression's with some Tim Holtz Spun Sugar ink to create a background. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and I added a few sequins to finish.

Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Hope you get some time to craft.
