Sympathy card

 I needed to make a sympathy card at the weekend. When I have set up all the Altenew layering stamps from a particular set I tend to stamp lots in different colours. It's just easier, you have gone to all the effort of matching it all up, so do lots of different colourways before you clean the stamps and put them away. I then keep them in a folder until I need them. I always do some in grey tones as I know they would be useful for sympathy cards. I love this stamp set its called Floral Art and the black leaves comes from Wallpaper Art. I used two of the grey inks for the flowers and the lightest one for blending in the background. The sentiment is from an old Paula Pascual set. I added a few Nuvo drops to finish.

Fun Fold Series: Card no.2

Hi, Happy Friday. Not sure what to call this card but it does include a back to front "Z" element but with a window. This time the "Z" part opens up from the inside, with a topper that sits in a window when closed.  It has a large window on the front, that has been cut with a rectangle stitched die. I wanted to use this Orchid stamped image so I had to make the window large. This meant that the support of the card was a bit weak, so I cut another one exactly the same size and stuck it in the inside for extra support. A smaller rectangle wouldn't have caused that problem.  This Orchid stamp and die set is from Papertrey Ink as they were called then. It was a gift and again, hardly used lol. So I sat and set out all the stamps in my stamp positioner this week and stamped lots up in different colourways. You get the spray with the leaves and another stamp and die with just a spray. That one I have used on the inside. With multi layering stamps, the Stampin Up Stamparatus is a gods send. You get interchangeable plates so I was able to have the flowers, leaves on the go all at once. The happy birthday stamp comes with the stamp set. I followed a video, here is the link  . Happy Saturday, it's a bit warmer and sunnier out there now than it was first thing. Hope the weather is good where you are and you are staying safe in these difficult times. My card today uses the newish John Lockwood die called Tatty Daisy. I have had it awhile but not used it yet, so after much reminding ( thanks Gill) I used it to make this card. Nearly all the John Next Door dies I used before belonged to the shop so I used a MFT leaf die instead. The centres are Flower Soft, which I saw someone selling on facebook, you could use PVA drops or pearls instead. I made a frame using some stitched rectangle dies and backed with some wood effect paper. Finished off with a sentiment strip that was embossed with white embossing powder. The card blank is made from black card and its a tent fold.
