Craft club card

Today I had my Monday card club and carrying on with the Craftwork Cards theme we made a butterfly easel card using the Botanica kit. The rosette in the middle is made from the Tim Holtz Sizzlet strip and the butterfly punch is a Martha Stewart. Finished off with some Candi, Paula Pascual sentiment and some Stickles glitter glue.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope all you Mum's out there get spoilt rotten today, carrying on with my week long Craftwork Cards posts here is the Mothers Day card I made for my mum.

Its a variation on a stepper card, I cut out a pot shape and made flowers from the die cut sheets to fill it and added a sentiment from the kit. I did borrow a friends Heartfelt Creations die to pop across the back but not sure which one it is. I teamed the papers from the kit up with the Colorwash pack again and the leaves are from a Stampin'Up die.

back tomorrow with a different style of easel card

Have a great Sunday!

Craftwork Cards Botanica Kit day 4

Today's card is a very simple design again, I cut around the pink flowers with a knife and slipped the square die cut panel underneath. Some ribbon slipped through behind and some flowers to finish from kit plus a few extras with a retro flower punch.

Craftwork Cards Botanica Kit day 3

Today's card was a happy accident from yesterdays one. After I had die cut the middle of the last card I thought that would make a card in itself, like a tag. So I die cut it again in Kraft card two times, scored across the top and attached together with sticky tape. Then I added a tag from the pad, a flower I made from the die cuts sheet and a sentiment. I arranged some of the new pearls on a string we have in the shop through one of the flower layers.  Some Candi in the corners and some ribbon from my stash and its done.
Quick and easy card.

Back tomorrow with day 4

Have a great weekend

Craftwork Cards Botanica day 2

Today's card uses one of the new Sue Wilson dies Cordoba. I cut the largest die out of Kraft card, trimmed to fit a 7x5 card and attached to card with foam pads to make a frame. The next size die down I cut out of one of the Colourwash Macaroon papers and attached inside. I matted one of the tag from the Botanica pad to a Craftwork Kraft tag, attached to card and made a flower from the die cuts in the kit. The sentiment is from the kit as well and I cut a little butterfly out again and Silver Candi in the flower center. Lastly, I added a bow using ribbon from my stash and threaded some new Creative Expressions Pearls on a string through the knot.

Craftwork Cards Botanica Day 1

Probably my favorite kit from Craftwork so far, because I love the foiling and the matching tag pads. I have used some of it already for a class and wanted to carry on using it up before I get another kit..lol! So I have made quite a few cards and will be posting them daily on here.

Today's one uses one of the green papers from the Colourwash collection Macaroon pad, papers from the main Botanica pad,two of the Botanica tags, two Kraft tags from Craftwork { I just trimmed them down to make a mat for the Botanica tags} a sentiment die cut trimmed down slightly from the Botanica kit, some ribbon from stash and the Silver Candi. I cut out one of the birds from the tag pad and a little butterfly from a scrap of paper.

Back tomorrow with another card

Craft club card

This weeks card involves colouring vellum which is so popular at the moment. The flowers are stamped and heat embossed with white embossing powder. In this card I used distress ink on a piece of foam to colour the reverse of the vellum but it needed drying with a heat gun. Alternatively, I have used Marvey Le Plume pens or you can use alcohol pens. It creates a lovely soft, subtle look to a card.

Products used:

Stamps: Hero Arts Dotted Flowers, Woodware sentiment
Embossing folder: Couture Creations Extra Confetti
Vellum: Woodware 180g
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress ink Evergreen Bough, Dusty Concord
Extras: Mark Richards Glitter Domes, Stampendous White embossing powder

Everything can be brought or ordered from the shop, details on side bar.

Mask Class

Last week we had a class looking at different ways to use masks, there are a lot of different ones on the market at the moment and are fairly cheap to buy , so a great addition to your stash.

First uses the fuchsia mask from That Special Touch, simply run through a die cutting machine and embossed using a rubber mat. The handbag was stamped and embossed and then I coloured the chain areas with a Silver gel pen and added glitter to flower embellishment on bag.

Products used:

Mask: That Special Touch Filigree
Stamps: Sue Wilson Creative Expressions Bejewelled Bag
Die: Nestabilities Square
Extras: Black pigment ink and clear embossing powder, Black dotty ribbon, silver gel pen and glitter pen, glitter,

The second card uses Cosmic Shimmer clear texture paste through a mask and then using some tiny spoons carefully sprinkling different colour glitter over design. You need to leave it to dry, depending on room temperature 1/2 to 1 hour or overnight . I added some liquid pearl dots and sprinkled glitter over those as well. This card blank is 7" which I am loving, especially as the masks are around 6 " square, gives you some more space to work with. The second layer of card has been edged with double sided tape and glitter to give the illusion of a whole piece of glitter card but at less cost and waste.

Products used:

Mask: That Special Touch fuchsia
Glitter/paste: Cosmic Shimmer Texture paste clear, Cosmic Shimmer Polished Glitters lavender, Antique Rose, Sea Green
Stamp: Woodware Happy Birthday Sentiment

Everything used can be brought and ordered from FMK details on side bar

Craft Club card

I am not sure what this card design is called but I call it a recessed frame. One of the newest Craftwork cards kits is called Botanica and its probably my favourite so far. They have brought out coordinating tags pads to go with the 8x8 pad. If you keep everything on the front relatively flat this card will still go in a 6" square envelope.

Products used:

Papers: Craftwork Cards Botanica 8x8 pad, tag books, candi
Card: kraft card A3
Stamps: Woodware Tag Builder
Dies: Spellbinders
Extras: Brown ribbon

We have the Botanica kits now in the shop and the tag pads are also available. Look out for more cards from me using this kit.
