Quick and Easy Christmas card

Over the next few days I will be sharing photos of the cards we did today at Bitz & Glitz. First one uses the new cloud inks and a mask to make the background. These masks from Sweet Dixie are new in the shop and are fantastic value at £2.99 and the cloud inks just glide over them so easily. I wanted to keep the card simple as it was quick and easy class, so I just die cut some of the trees from the new this year Sue Wilson die and added some twinkles glue to create snow (difficult to see in pic). Then just stamped a sentiment.

Advent Calendar

Todays post is a break from cards but still carrying on the Christmas theme. Yesterday I spent the day at Bitz & Glitz teaching an advent calendar class. The top part comes off for storing and you can have it either flat or turned the other way so you have a shelf to decorate around the 25. I painted the top and the sides with paint and the back part has been stamped in Versafine ink with an Indigoblu snowflake stamp. The rest is decorated with some mdf trees and reindeer. I die cut the Christmas word several times and stuck it together to make it stronger. The edges of the whole calendar have been rubbed with some wax, but its hard to see in photo. Finally finished off with snowtex to cover the hot glue gun and of course a dusting of glitter. The boxes are made from greyboard and have been covered with Christmas papers and the numbers have been inked with a silver pigment ink. I kept my numbers in sequence but as suggested in yesterday class half the fun is finding the numbers so next time I am going to jumble them up.

Gold & Black again

Loving the trend for gold and black this year so I choose some Wow powder and Chloe's stamp again to make this card for demo at Craft Plus Uk last week. The bauble was embossed in the Wow powder and I stamped the dotty line in Black ink and finished off with some of the gold beads and ribbon. Some matting with Black card and a simple sentiment and its done....quick and easy and great idea for mass producing.

Chloes Cards Starry and Snowflake stamp

Todays card uses the large Starry and Snowflake stamp from Stamps by Chloe. There is a smaller version. I also used some of the Wow white embossing powder, I am loving this embossing powder....leaves hardly any behind on your cardstock as it has been treated for static.

I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed and then stamped the snowflake stamp on either side of the card. I then stamped and embossed again on some scrap card and cut out with a circle punch and matted onto a white die cut circle.

I inked and embossed the rope stamp that comes in the set. Finished off with some white twine and lots of gems for added bling!

Crafters Companion Christmas Cheer

Todays card, from last weeks demo at Craft Plus UK, uses the Christmas Cheer stamp from Crafters Companion Nordic Christmas range. It has been coloured with Promarkers and then I used the papers I had from the Nordic First Edition pad to design the rest of the card. Sentiment comes with the stamp and I used the tiny bow die from yesterday Spellbinders set to go on the tags which come in the paper pad. Finally I punched some of the flowers out with a tiny circle punch. The card itself is 2 square pieces of cream textured card as its all I had, I turned the back panel so the smooth side is inside and score 1" across the top and glued that top 1" to the reverse of the front panel. I didn't have any premade cream cards in the larger size, so decided after seeing Christine on Create and Craft, to try this way. It definitely stands better and is more stable this way, especially if you have putting a lot on the front of the card. I forgot to take a pic of the back to explain, but will do it again on another card so you can see better.

Jingle Bells

Moving onto some lovely new dies that I used at the weekends demo, the Edge'ables from Crafters Companion and some Spellbinders Lattice Ornaments. The Edge'ables first, I backed with some matt gold card on the back of the card to show through. The bells were cut directly into the card as they come in 2 pieces an outer and inner die.  Then I added some black card to show through the bells. I love that little bow which comes with them....again that was cut in the same gold card. I used a fine liner pen to draw lines. Finished off with some lovely gold beads from Do Crafts and some ribbon. The sentiment is from a Woodware Christmas set coming up on tomorrows card.

Woodare Candi Tree ...different version

Day 3 of my demo card posts.....todays card uses same stamp as yesterday but different style.

The stamp is on a kraft tag from a Do Crafts kit and I used the Nordic paper pad to decorate. The tiniest circles are made from punching tiniest circles using a plier punch and then embossed on back using a round ball tool. The Nordic embossing folder is embossed on Kraft card . The candi this time is pearly cream.

Demo Cards Part 2 Woodware Candi Tree

Back again with another demo card from Craft Plus UK, this time using the Woodware Candi tree that co-ordinates with Craftwork Cards candi. The colour scheme for this card started with the ribbon that I had from a Do Crafts tag set. I had no red metallic candi and didn't have time to pop to shops so I had one of those rare light bulb moments to use my round foam pads instead. My original idea was to coat the tops of the already sticky foam pads in glitter, but it left the sides showing white, which was bugging me, so I coloured them red with a promarker. When I dusted with glitter it stuck to sides as well, you could probably use a zig glue pen...not tried it yet. I did try Cosmic Shimmer glue and got in a right mess! The rest of the tree is a mix of bling stones and gems/pearls. The embossing folder at the back is part of the Crafters Companion Nordic range. The sentiment stamp comes with the tree stamp.

Card Plus Uk demo cards part 1

Over the next few days I will be posting photos of the cards I made for my demo yesterday at Card Plus UK.

Todays card uses the Poinsettia Bauble stamp from Woodware, which is ideal for the paper piecing technique. I decided on a cream background and then stamped the whole bauble once on that paper and again on some red. I cut out the red Poinsettia's and attached them back onto the cream stamped image with foam pads. I added some yellow pearls to the centres. I die cut some holly leaves to go under my frame and draw lines down with a pen to the baubles.

Sue Wilson Festive collection

My Card today uses two sets of dies from Sue Wilson, I kept it clean and simple with just some gems and ribbon and of course glitter.

Firstly, I die cut and embossed the outer edge die from the Deboss Snowflake set onto some pale blue card. Then on another piece of white card I embossed just the snowflake pattern and attached it to my card blank so it sat inside the first die cut shape one the blue. I wrapped the ribbon around the bottom of the blue card and then attached with foam pads. I then die cut the snowflakes and using a zig glue pen to apply a thin layer of glue sprinkled each with glitter. Layered them up and added a gem. There is an oval die in the Deboss set and I cut that out in blue and stamped my sentiment. To add some more glitter I ran my quicky glue pen around the edges of the die cut centre and then sprinkled them with glitter . The centre was attached with foam pads again.

Let it snow

Todays card uses the newish edge dies from Crafters Companion. I teamed it up with the cute snowman stamp set from the Nordic Christmas range also from Crafters Companion. You cant see very well from picture but I cut out and coloured the hat and scarf from a second stamped image and attached back on with foam pads. The image is coloured with Promarkers and the bunting stamp is just stamped and coloured. I added some glitter and a few highlights with a white gel pen.

Winter Wonderland

Its full on now with Christmas card making, so thought I would share a card I made for a class recently at Bitz & Glitz.

I stamped the tree image twice with a soft grey ink. Die cut and embossed the Deer's and then sponged through some Brown ink to highlight. The snow is done with torn pieces of White card and then glittered along the edges.
