Those left over bits and pieces

Just before Christmas I had another tidy up in my craft room and found a pile of demo pieces from some of my classes. Usually where I have shown a technique and kept the die cut/background etc with the intention of doing something with it and not.....well this year I did ( for once)

So for todays post I am showing you those cards, I had already sent mine for this year but at least I have made a small start on next years ones.

First up a pink version of a card made using Phil Martin stamps. Using the Snowflake striplet stamp, I single snowflake in the circle, all backed with Black cardstock. A die cut snowflake in the middle from glitter card and a gem in the centre. The pink ink is Creative Expressions cloud ink. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted and punched out with the Washi Tape punch.

Second card uses a frame made from the Sue Wilson Pierced Squares die set that I had left over from some of my Christmas cards, I cut a square out of another background made using Phil Martins Snowflake striplet stamp, this time in a blue cloud ink. I then stamped some die cut circles with his individual Snowflake stamps and blended cloud ink to match the background. Different sizes and a Black fine liner pen to create the thread. Sentiment same as last card. Gems in the centres.

Last one, a background created using a Sweet Dixie Mask, sponged through with Cloud ink again, another left over frame from Sue Wilson set and this time I stamped an image from a freebie in a magazine, added some glitter and then same sentiment and punch as before.

That's just about it for this years cards and decorations, I started in July and its time to put Christmas projects behind me. Been packing it all away today and trying to get my room a Christmas free zone until next summer lol!

Fizzy Moon

This is the card I made my granddaughter for Christmas. I don't colour as much as I used to, so thoroughly enjoyed doing this. I used Promarkers this time and filled the fur parts with diamond dust so it twinkled. I did 3d the presents by stamping them on scraps of paper and layering them with foam pads but its not noticeable on the pic.

I hope you all had a lovely day yesterday and today. I decided to make some table gifts this year and after seeing a die at a show recently and deciding it wasn't  worth the price,my friend Gill showed me how to make them on my envelope punch board. I had to adapt them to make them fit the idea I had for the gifts.

They measure 2 3/4" wide and they contained fluffy bed socks for the girls, Star Wars socks for the boys and Terry's Chocolate Orange for my mum and dad ( out of its box)

Christmas Tree

If you follow Christine Emberson's blog you would have seen her gorgeous tree she made using Spellbinders dies. I didn't have anything like that so I used Sue Wilson Perfect Peony dies, ideal as they have different sizes in one set, so I choose 3 and was able to run them through the machine at same time. When I got the top I did finish with just smaller ones. As I left this project quite late, I didn't have time to go out and source something to go on top, so I used a snowflake die from Clearly besotted, cut it twice from some satin card and backed it together with a pin inside. This then just popped in the top of the polystyrene cone which I picked up at Hobby crafts. The paper pad is First Edition Gilded Winter. I did spray the flowers with some glitter spray from Crafters Companion, it did take me a few night to complete but I loved doing it.

Christmas card and matching box

Todays post is a card and matching box.....saw this all in one box on pinterest and thought I would have a go. I always have a problem when doing a lot of these boxes at christmas....choose present first and then make box to fit or vice versa. This time I brought the gifts and adapted the size to fit....quite pleased with myself for working it out. The card is a 5" square so you get the idea of size.

Of course, I had to use the lovely Tim Holtz Vintage glitter again!!

Christmas ornaments

I took sometime out on Saturday to just play with some stash I have had for a year or two to make some decorations for my tree. The first ones are some MDF tree ornaments I brought from Artcuts not long after they opened. I painted the first one with some Indigoblu paint and stamped with a tree stamp from Clarity. Then attached a little MDF reindeer I had left over from a class. I used some Snowtex for the snow and sprinkled with glitter. Finished off with some ribbon .

Second one is covered in the gorgeous Tim Holtz Vintage glitter ( this will definitely not be put away until next Christmas) using some Indigoblu Flitterglu. Then I die cut some snowflakes from a set from Clearly Besotted in some felt like material I have for yonks. Finished off with some gems and ribbon.

Lastly, my favourite I think, some Perspex ornaments from The Range. Die cut some more snowflakes and covered with same glitter using glue pen. Suspended with fishing wire and then some diamond chunky glass sprinkled in the bottom and after its been sealed a pearl on the bottom and ribbon on top.

All ready on tree and at least I can say this year I used a little bit of my old stash.

White one White part 3

Last card from class at Craft Plus UK, this time using vellum and acetate. I knew from the size of the stamps the card would need to be bigger than the usual 6" square, so to be able to use A4 sheets I cut out 2 7" squares and embossed a line down the right hand side of both and then backed them wrong sides together and punched 2 holes to thread ribbon through. The acetate is heat resistant and is stamped with the branches stamp from Chloe and embossed with Wow white embossing powder, I then cut the branches out. The vellum has been stamped and embossed with a white/silver embossing powder and the Christmas Rose stamp from Chloe. I die cut the Fronds die by Sue Wilson from card topped with double sided adhesive and sprinkled with glitter. To finish, the sentiment has been filled in with glitter and the edges dipped in glitter using a Zig pen.

Products used:

Dies: Sue Wilson Fronds

Embossing powders/Glitter: Stampendous Winter Wonderland, Wow Bright White, Honeydoo Glitter
Extras: Creative Expressions adhesive sheets, Crafters Companion acetate, Woodware Vellum, Zig Chisel tip pen, White organza ribbon

Gift Bag

Something bit different today, I stamped and punched a selection of flowers from the set I used on yesterdays card, I didn't use them all so I kept them safe to use on something else. I wanted to wrap a gift quickly and didn't have time to make a box etc. I then remembered I had some brown bags from Stampin'Up , they still do them but now they are plain for you to stamp yourself.  I cut a banner and cut a 'V' in the bottom, then arranged the flowers going down. I then stamped and punched a sentiment and added some sequins. The bag was held closed by a tiny bulldog clip and I tied a bow with some twine.

Black and Gold easel card

Last card from my class at Bitz & Glitz this time using the lovely stamps from John Lockwood. Apologies for the photo, but you get the idea.  I stamped one of the trees twice directly onto some white card and then stamped and embossed with some gold embossing powder another tree and cut it out. I made the frame using Sue Wilsons Piercing squares using some of the lovely gold satin card from the shop and used one of the words from the set to  make a stopper. I finished off using the border stamp across the bottom, again this was embossed with gold powder.

Sue Wilson Festive Pointsettia Collection

Good evening, todays card is another from a recent class at Bitz & Glitz, this time using the Sue Wilson Poinsettia dies from this years festive collection. You can buy 2 sets, first one cuts the solid background, the second one leaves the outline only....can be used individually or together as I have. I decided to keep then red with white on top. You also get the leaves.....same as before in with the solid flowers, the solid leaves and in the with outline flowers the outline leaves. For those I used some green cardstock underneath and again white on top. Once I had stuck the two layers together I did turn them over and with an embossing tool gently embossed the back layers through to the front in between the outline edges to create some extra dimension. I am loving my ever growing collection of Cloud inks from Creative Expressions, for this card I wanted a soft edge of colour inside the circle aperture but no harsh lines and cloud ink is superb at that effect. Quite a lot of die cutting in this card, but worth it especially if you are making a special card.

Products used:

Dies: Sue Wilson Festive Collection Poinsettia and Poinsettia open flower, Crafts Too Presscut Circles
Stamps: Woodware BD23 2DE,
Extras: Creative Expressions Chic Moss cloud ink, Mark Richards Yellow pearls

Back tomorrow with the last class card and then onto some birthday cards for a change. Have a great weekend

Tim Holtz Vintage glitter

The card I am sharing today was from a class a few weeks ago at Bitz & Glitz. I have just had the new Tim Holtz vintage glitter delivered and was dying to use it. I die cut a Spellbinders bauble with a sheet of double sided adhesive attached to a piece of white card and then removed the top layer and sprinkled with glitter. Next I used the same bauble die again this time in some patterned paper from one of my First Edition pads. I then die cut a snowflake in the centre of the bauble to create an aperture. This was then attached on top of the glittery bauble so you can see through it. I die cut another snowflake in some different paper and added a small snowflake that had also been die cut from the waste of the double sided adhesive and dipped in the glitter. The rest of the card is pretty simple, finished off with some ribbon

Products used:
Dies: Spellbinders Baubles 2013, Sue Wilson Festive collection Snowflakes
